Scientists at the Oxford Drug Discovery Institute are using AI-powered databases to speed up the search for Alzheimer’s drugs. By quickly sorting through large amounts of biomedical data, they’ve found 54 immune-related genes for lab testing. They use knowledge graphs, a technology popularized by Google, to easily understand gene or protein properties by linking different data sources.
This approach cuts down the time needed to evaluate these genes from weeks to just days. It helps researchers better manage complex data and speeds up the process of finding potential drug targets.
