Qualcomm and Google are teaming up with the purpose of integrating Google’s AI technology into Qualcomm’s chips. This further permits car makers to manufacture specialized AI voice assistants that have the ability to operate without the driver’s smartphone.
In this collaboration, the attention is on making Google’s Android Automotive OS compatible with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips. In addition to this, Qualcomm has rolled out two new chips: the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite for vehicle dashboards and the Snapdragon Ride Elite for boosting self-driving capabilities. Mercedes-Benz plans to to use the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite chip in its to be launched cars in the near future.
