On April 2, 2025, Siemens AG made the announcement that it had purchased Dotmatics, an American research and development software company, for $5.1 billion. This purchase is believed to be a strategic step that would put Siemens’ Life Sciences business one step ahead.

They plan to do this by adding Dotmatics’ special software, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to manage product development, into their Xcelerator platform. Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens AG, explained that incorporating Dotmatics is a key improvement for their life sciences division.

He further stated that Dotmatics’ advanced software, which is made for handling intense scientific data and powered by AI, aligns well with Siemens’ goal to digitize industries with complex processes.

By acquiring Dotmatics, Siemens projects to help its customers make better decisions more quickly and bring important new products to market faster.
