Apollo Hospitals in India is increasing its spending on AI to help doctors and nurses by automating regular tasks like writing medical notes. In the last two years, they’ve put 3.5% of their digital budget toward AI and now plan to invest even more.
The AI tools are there to assist doctors and nursing staff when it comes patient diagnosis, understanding test results, giving treatment ideas, and taking notes for doctors. This technology aims to provide healthcare workers an additional two to three hours each day. Furthermore, Apollo is creating an AI tool that would provide suggestions on what are the best antibiotics that can be used. This is essential because a lot of nurses are leaving their jobs. The rate of nurses quitting is projected to reach 30% by the end of the 2025 fiscal year.
